Going Slow

Does life seem to be speeding up because I am forever going slower? Or are we caught up in a world gone mad with reaching ever more distant destinations and ever more impatience with things that get in our way? Consider a simple thought experiment. Consider what it would be like if the whole world were, somehow, to become speed restricted to the pace of our pedal powered bikes. This week's story in Bicyclism Blog is about a politician who cycles a lot. It's fascinating to note the reactions from those who share a deep pathology for difference; particularly among the press. I reckon cyclists have what it takes to make a difference, particularly with leadership. So I am fascinated by this latest Aussie pollie who likes to meet and greet while out on his bike.
